President Biden weighed in on Monday to the shooting death of a black man in a Minneapolis suburb, after the police chief said he believed the officer involved accidentally used a gun instead of a taser.
“I think we’ve got to wait and see what the investigation shows. The entire investigation. You’ve all watched, I assume as I did, the… body cam, which is fairly graphic,” said Biden, adding: “The question is: Was it an accident, was it intentional? That remains to be determined by a full blown investigation.”
“But in the meantime, I want to make it clear again: There is absolutely no justification, none, for looting. No justification for violence; peaceful protest is understandable,” he said.

An officer who fatally shot a 20-year-old black man outside Minneapolis on Sunday accidentally pulled out her gun instead of a taser, according to police.
Body camera footage shows the officer pulling her service pistol on Daunte Wright, 20, as he was resisting arrest during a traffic stop around 10 miles from where George Floyd was killed last year by a Minneapolis police officer.

“This appears to me, from what I viewed in the officer’s reaction and distress immediately after, that this was an accidental discharge that resulted in the tragic death of Mr. Wright,” said Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon in a Monday press conference.
Gannon said at a news conference that the officer made a mistake, and he released body camera footage from the officer who fired. The footage showed three officers around a stopped car. When another officer attempts to handcuff Wright, a struggle ensues. The officer is heard shouting “Taser!” several times before firing her weapon.
“This was an accidental discharge that resulted in a tragic death of Mr. Wright,” the chief said.
Brooklyn Center Mayor Mike Elliott called the shooting “deeply tragic.”
“We’re going to do everything we can to ensure that justice is done and our communities are made whole,” he said.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz tweeted that he was praying for Wright’s family “as our state mourns another life of a Black man taken by law enforcement.” –ABC News
Attorney Will Chamberlain said that the incident constitutes ‘gross negligence’ and ‘involuntary manslaughter’ in his opinion.
